astrobiology- the past is becoming the future

Hi everybody, for the first post, I'll write about the mysterious, interesting subject: astrobiology.
Astrobiology, or exobiology, is the science of searching extraterrestrial life.
Astrobiology is a new field. The first astrobiologers appeared in the 20th century.
Astrobiology was a science fiction field until 1959.
In 1959, NASA began looking for extraterrestrial life.
In 1971, SETI's offices opened.
SETI is the biggest astrobiology project, but I'll tell about SETI in another article.
Back to astrobiology- mars always was an interesting planet for the man kind. When the telescopes arrived in the 17th century, people had 3 main targets- our moon, Venus and, of course, mars.
While watching at mars, people saw lines that looked like giant water pipes. When they saw those amazing pipes, naturally they thought about creatures who built the pipes. this level was very strangely, there are a lot of strange stories about contact tries, but it doesn't mater. The is it- people interested in astrobiology before the 20th century, centuries before it!
Back to the past- moon always was an interesting astronomical object, because it is the closest astronomical object. people in the past watched at the moon a lot, that is the reason of  the lunar calenders, and of the names Monday and month.
From time immemorial, people wanted to reach the stars, and they interested in the stars, naturally, they invented stories about the stars. People invented stories about extraterrestrial life in the moon, and people tried to attract their attention. There are strange stories here, too. Again, I'll not tell them (if you want I'll tell them, write in the comments).
The clever reader will ask why did I write that astrobiology is a new field?
I'll explain. People always interested in astrobiology, but the 20th century opened many options for the astrobiologgers. From the 20th century astrobiology wasn't a science fiction field, from the 20th century astrobiology was a science field. In the 8th decade of the 20th century, spaceships arrived to another planets. spaceships arrived to mars and confirmed that the "water pipes" are optical illusions. The viking spaceships found stones and scientists think the stones are microorganism's fossil. Scientists confirmed there aren't extraterrestrial life in moon. A lot of strange things happened in the astrobiology field.
Currently, scientists try to find extraterrestrial life. Every week we can hear about more a breakthrough in the astrobiology, and experts say that we will find an extraterrestrial life in two decade.
One thing is clear: we are going to surprise our self with new discovers in the new field, and it is just the start...

Mars- pay attention to the "water pipes"
